Acceptable Use Policy

1. Our principle
Aurora VPN is a privacy tool built to protect lawful users. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out what you may not do with the Service. The principle is simple: use the Service lawfully and do not use it to harm others or their systems. This AUP is incorporated into our Terms of Service, and violating it is a violation of the Terms.
2. Prohibited activities
You may not use the Service to engage in, facilitate or attempt any of the following:
- Any unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive activity
- Creating, storing, distributing or accessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — strictly and absolutely prohibited
- Unauthorised access to, or hacking of, any system, network or account
- Distributing malware, viruses, ransomware or operating botnets
- Sending spam or unsolicited bulk communications
- Infringing copyright, trademarks, trade secrets or other intellectual property rights
- Launching DDoS, DoS or other network attacks
- Imposing an excessive load on, scraping or otherwise abusing infrastructure (ours or third parties’)
- Fraud, including the use of stolen payment cards, identity theft or impersonation
- Harassment, threats, hate speech or discrimination against others
- Reselling, sublicensing or otherwise commercially redistributing the Service, providing it as a public VPN to an unlimited group, or circumventing device limits or other technical protections
3. Your responsibility for your jurisdiction
The Service is available worldwide — it is your responsibility to assess whether your use complies with the laws applicable to you. Knowing and complying with the laws of your jurisdiction is your responsibility, not ours. The availability of a feature or server location does not imply that any particular use is lawful where you are.
4. BitTorrent and peer-to-peer
BitTorrent and other peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing are blocked on standard locations. Where Aurora offers locations explicitly designated for P2P, torrents may be used on those locations only — and only where such use is lawful in your jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for ensuring your file-sharing is legal where you are; infringing the rights of others is never permitted.
5. Devices and fair use
Each plan includes a set number of devices that may be connected at the same time — Start allows 3, Pro allows 5 and Plus allows 7 concurrent devices. Please keep your usage within the limit of your plan.
To protect the Service for everyone, we monitor for abnormal patterns such as an unusually high number of devices, atypically high traffic, or suspicious connection behaviour. Where we detect such patterns, we may apply a temporary restriction while we look into it, and we may ask you to provide a reasonable explanation. Normal personal use is never affected.
6. Respectful conduct
Please communicate respectfully with our support team. Abuse, threats, spam, or flooding of our support channels may lead to your requests being handled on a restricted basis or to suspension of your account.
7. Enforcement measures
Depending on the nature and severity of a violation, we may apply graduated measures, choosing the one that is proportionate to the violation. No refund is provided where access is terminated because of an AUP violation. Possible measures include:
- Temporary suspension of access while we investigate
- Reset of your devices and reissue of your subscription link
- A permanent ban of your account
- Refusal to provide the Service to you in future
8. Consequences of violations
If we determine that you have violated this AUP, we may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice and without a refund, and we may take any other action permitted by law, including reporting unlawful activity (such as CSAM) to the competent authorities. We may also preserve and disclose information where required by law.
9. Reporting abuse
If you believe the Service is being used in violation of this AUP, please report it to support@auroravpn.org. We review reports of abuse and act on them in accordance with this AUP and applicable law.
