Where the company is registered and why it matters

Jurisdiction defines which laws a VPN operates under and whether it can be compelled to hand over data. We chose a privacy-friendly jurisdiction.

🛡️

Place of registration

Aurora is registered in a jurisdiction outside the international intelligence-sharing alliances (5/9/14 Eyes).

📜

No mandatory retention

Local law does not require VPN providers to store user activity logs.

⚖️

Court orders only

Any requests are reviewed strictly within local law and due judicial process.

What this means for you

Jurisdiction matters because its laws determine whether a government can compel a provider to collect or disclose user data. We chose a country with no data-retention laws that is not part of mass intelligence-sharing alliances. Combined with our no-logs policy and a regular transparency report, this means: even with an official request, there is simply nothing to hand over.
