Frequently asked questions
What is my IP address?
Your IP address is the number your internet provider assigns to your connection. Every site you open sees it, along with the city and provider it maps to. This page shows the exact address a website reads from you right now.
Does a VPN change my IP address?
Yes. With a VPN the site sees the address of the VPN server instead of yours, along with that server's country. Your provider still routes the traffic but can no longer read what it contains.
Is hiding my IP address legal?
In most countries yes — an IP address is not a licence, and hiding it is the same as using any privacy tool. Local law and the terms of the services you use still apply.
